Mack Has Vision for Day Cab
Mack Trucks has rolled out a day cab version of its Vision tractor, with a host of new standard and optional features for less-than-truckload carriers, local, and vocational on-highway customers.
Mack will make the day cab available as a tractor or straight truck in 4×2 and 6×4 configurations. The company’s new ASET (Application Specific Engine Technology) engine family will supply the power, with horsepower ratings from 310 to 460 (a new 380/410 horsepower MaxiCruise engine is an option).
For highway use, including regional and local hauling assignments, the day cab is available with the lightweight MaxAir suspension and 12,000-pound front and 40,000-pound rear axles. For vocational on-highway applications, such as flatbed, dump, and bulk hauling, options include 14,600-pound front and 46,000-pound rear axles, air and Mack “camelback” suspensions, and the new Maxitorque T300 series of Mack transmissions.
Overall, the new vehicle offers GVW ratings ranging from 35,000 to 60,600 pounds. Full production begins in October.
