MILTON, Ont. (July 18, 2001) — Auto parts giant Magna International confirmed plans to build a new plant near the junction of highways 401 and 25 in Milton, Ont., west of metropolitan Toronto.
The $150-million, 450,000-square-foot facility will produce frames and chassis for DaimlerChrysler light trucks. It will be operated by Modatek Systems and employ 600 workers.
The site, on Chisholm Drive, is near Magna’s Karmax Heavy Stamping plant, which produces door frames for Chrysler and Ford.
Magna, Canada’s largest auto parts maker, recorded revenues of $10.1 billion US last year.
