Manitoba Trucking Association honours safe drivers

WINNIPEG (Oct. 24, 2002) — The Manitoba Trucking Association named its truck drivers of the month for July, August, and September, recognizing drivers for their safety, customer service, and dedication.

The association honoured Eddie Friesen of Penner International for July; Len Lundquist of Canada Safeway for August; and Denis Roberts of Porter Trucking for September.

These three drivers represent 82 years and over 7.5 million miles of total driving experience, the association said. Friesen has been a professional driver for 14 years and has accumulated 1.74 million accident-free miles. Lundquist has been a professional driver for 42 years and has accumulated 5 million miles without being involved in a collision. Roberts has been professional driver for 25 years and has not been involved in a collision.

The awards are sponsored by Custom Truck Sales and Canadian Kenworth. The Manitoba Trucking Association is based in Winnipeg.
