Markel executive honored for safety work
TORONTO (June 11, 2001) — Armand Moiny, safety and training services specialist for Markel Insurance Co. of Canada, was presented with the Safety To Motor Transportation Award by the Motor Vehicle Safety Association (MVSA).
The award was presented at the MVSA’s annual “Safety to Motor Transportation” dinner on May 22. Moiny was honored for his outstanding contribution and dedication to safety in the trucking industry and on public highways.
Moiny was a safety, training, and compliance manager at TNT Logistics and was manager of loss prevention at Westway Forwarding Ltd. before joining Markel. He has been chairman of the Ontario Trucking Association Safety Council for the past 10 years.
In addition to the award, Moiny received a diamond ring and a weekend for two.
