Meritor WABCO earns second consecutive quality award

TROY, Mich. — Meritor WABCO Vehicle Control Systems’ brake quality hasn’t slowed down since earning a Quality Excellence Award from Hino Motors last year.

Meritor WABCO, a joint venture of ArvinMeritor and the WABCO Automotive Control Systems, won the award for the second year in a row recently, with specific recognition for the company’s facility in Hebron, Ky., which achieved a perfect defect rate of 0 parts per million (PPM) during 2009.

The Hebron plant supplies Hino with pneumatic and hydraulic anti-lock braking (ABS) systems for vehicles built in Williamston, W.Va., and Woodstock, Ont.

In addition to Hebron’s 0-PPM quality rating, its on-time delivery performance was 96 percent for 2009.
