Miller named OTA/Volvo Trucks Canada driver of the year

TORONTO — William J. Miller, 64, a 30-year industry veteran, was named the Ontario Trucking Association/Volvo Trucks Canada “Driver of the Year” yesterday at the OTA’s annual convention in Toronto.

An owner-operator affiliated with Ram Contract Carriers, of Essex, Ont., Miller has accumulated more than 2.5 million accident-free miles in his 30 years of truck driving.

“Mr. Miller is one of the thousands of men and women who do an outstanding job each day, but without capturing public recognition,” said Mike O’Connell, president of Volvo Trucks Canada. “We are proud to recognize one of the many unsung heroes of the highway.”

Miller received a trophy and a cash prize from Volvo Trucks Canada.
