MTA recognize the industry’s best
WINNIPEG — The Manitoba Trucking Association (MTA) presented Driver of the Month awards to three professional truck drivers at a reception on Nov. 23 in Winnipeg.
The three outstanding drivers honored Friday together have contributed more than 46 years and 8.7 million kilometres of driving to the motor transport industry.
Driver of the Month Awards recognize professional drivers whose careers demonstrate excellent driving skills, exemplary safety records, outstanding customer service and a dedication to the profession.
Driver of the Month for July is John Fehr, a professional driver for 19 years. During that time Fehr has driven more than 3.6 million accident-free kilometres of highway across Canada and the U.S. Fehr currently drives for Penner International.
Driver of the Month for August is Henry Doerksen. A highway driver for 14 years, Doerksen has logged about 2.5 million accident-free kilometres across Canada and the U.S. Doerksen also drives for Penner International.
Driver of the Month for September is Roy Shaw, a professional driver for 13 years. In that time he had accumulated 2.6 million accident-free kilometres of highway and city driving. Shaw drives for Arnold Bros. Transport.
MTA’s Driver of the Month awards have recognized outstanding Manitoba drivers since 1979.
