MTA to host border crossing seminar

WINNIPEG, (Sept. 29, 2004) — The Manitoba Trucking Association is presenting a full-day highway carrier workshop called “Crossing Borders” in association with D. Dent & Associates on October 13, 2004.

The one-day workshop — taking place at the Canada Inn Garden City — will cover all the latest U.S. and Canadian border initiatives, including:

FAST, CSA, PIP, C-TAP, ACE, AND ACI; how to expedite clearance through FAST and PAPS; Will BRASS continue to be an option; Understanding the driver’s role; FAST driver registration; Training and hiring procedures; Advance Electronic Presentation of Cargo; FDA pre-notification compliance update, and more.

The MTA says registration is limited, and close to 50 people have signed up. The cost for association members is $125 with a 10 per cent discount for additional registrations.
