MTO studies QEW expansion near Niagara
NIAGARA FALLS, Ont. — Ontario is funding a study that will examine the possibility of widening the QEW highway near Niagara and Fort Erie, reports the Niagara Falls Review.
The work is being considered between Mountain Road and Highway 420. Another study would consider the replacement of the Bowen Road overpass interchange improvements at that location, according to the paper.
The stretch is the last segment of two-lane highway between Niagara Falls and Toronto.
The Ministry of Transportation announced last week, the start of environmental assessments and preliminary design studies for both projects.
