Mullen Transport will help develop NWT supply chain
ALDERSYDE, AB, April 25- Oil and gas companies drilling in the underdeveloped Inuvialuit Region (ISR) of the Northwest Territories will be getting some support after Aldersyde, Alta-based Mullen Transportation and Grueben’s Transport-an Inuvialuit operated company based in the Northwest Territories-agreed to jointly develop a full-service supply chain in the area.
The venture, in which Mullen has acquired 49% interest, focuses on infrastructure and development in the ISR. It includes a full-service facility that offers support services, accommodation for 280 people, several utility buildings, fuel storage tank farm, and docking capacity for supply ships. Currently, a number of oil and gas companies engaged in exploration and development in the region have limited access to supplies, storage, and roads.
