NB announced Route 11 twinning plans

MONCTON, N.B. — Highway 11 between Moncton and Miramichi will be twinned, the provincial government announced this week.

There were no details on when the $942-million project is expected to start or be completed, according to the CBC.

The project will be broken up in three phases: First, Route 11 laning will be doubled from Shediac to Bouctouche, covering 35 km and four river crossings. Then, 21 km between Bouctouche and Richibouctou River will be twinned before the final 65-km stretch to Miramichi is completed.

That section will also include several bridges and interchanges.

The province is looking to the federal government for funding assistance.
