Nelson Global Products makes splash in truck exhaust biz
STOUGHTON, Wis. — Nelson Global Products is gearing up to make an impact in the commercial vehicle exhaust and fabricated tube assemblies market.
Returning to its six decades-plus history in the on-highway, off-highway and specialty vehicle markets, the newly-branded company says it aggressively plans to reinforce its position in both the OE markets and the heavy and medium vehicle aftermarket.
Nelson Global Products, formerly named Global Tube, bought Cummins’ commercial vehicle exhaust business this past January. It is a portfolio company of Wind Point Partners, a private equity firm in Chicago.
Nelson globally manufactures exhaust systems and fabricated tube products such as EGR, charged air tubes, coolant tubes, exhaust tubes and its newest line of Thermal Management Tubing (TMT) to support the thermal requirements of complex diesel emissions systems.
"Nelson is a powerful brand name and it’s back in a big way to serve OEM and aftermarket customers around the world," said Nelson’s CEO Tom Gosnell, formerly the president of ArvinMeritor’s Commercial Vehicles Aftermarket business and executive of Rockwell Automotive.
"Our extensive engineering team offers customers vast industry-market-and-application knowledge of multi-vehicles and multi-vocations, and our track record of collaborating and partnering with major customers is outstanding and held in high esteem by our customers."
Gosnell’s assembled management team included Kevin Stokstad, sales director; Frank Gould, engineering team leader; Tim Rusch, operations; and Sue Vanderbilt, finance.
Stokstad said in a press release that management has a clear vision of "wide availability in distribution channels with the right products at the right time."
