New ACE reporting tools coming soon
WASHINGTON — Activation of a new ACE reporting tool is expected in the first quarter of 2007.
New software programming will make ACE reports more user friendly and provide a foundation for enhanced capabilities, according to U.S. Customs and Border Protection.
An Authorized Data Extract (formerly known as Bulk Data Download) is expected to
become available in the second quarter of 2007. This feature will enable ACE users to download large amounts of data for reporting or analytical purposes.
For five months, both the current and new reporting tools will be available while users make the transition. All reports will then be converted at one time.
Eric Dalby, a global trade specialist for Kellwood, Co., a St. Louis-based retail importer, said, “It appears, based on previews, the new reporting tool will provide a more intuitive method for generating and modifying reports to streamline the process.”
