New Deltaport reservation system postponed — again

VANCOUVER — Terminal Systems Inc., the operator of Vancouver Port terminals, will not be able to launch the much-anticipated Navis terminal operating system and new truck reservation system at Deltaport.

The systems were scheduled to be operational this week. Furthermore, TSI has not announced a new implementation date — only saying that it is still “fully committed to implementing Navis at our operations.”

The B.C. Trucking Association — already frustrated with the inadequacies of the current reservation system — says it is disappointed that TSI has once again failed to meet its own expectations.

BCTA reminds TSI that it pledged back in the spring that there would be no further postponement beyond October 2007.

The trucking group is advising members to make sure their rates reflect the continuing difficulties with making reservations at Deltaport.
