New Raydan facility expands capacity

EDMONTON — Raydan Manufacturing has moved into a new location in Baden, Ont. northwest of Kitchener, and is expected to be in full production by the end of 2009.

This ten-bay facility will expand the Alberta-based company’s capacity for twin steer work and chassis modifications for the vocational truck market, as well as shorten wait and delivery times for customers in the eastern and central markets.

Additionally, Raydan has closed its Alberta parts and service center effective October 1, 2008.

"The poor performance of this non-core business unit was a major contributor to recent operating losses," the firm stated in a press release.

Proceeds from the sales of the property and inventory will be used for ongoing operations.

"Focusing on our core values in product development, manufacturing, chassis modifications and military applications in both Alberta and Ontario allows us to maximize our resources to deliver our products to our customers in a timely and cost effective manner," said Ray English, president and CEO.
