OBAC unites with French-language radio show, website
OTTAWA — Canada’s association of owner-operators is teaming up with a Quebec satellite radio program for truckers which “fills a much needed gap” for the group.
The Owner-Operator’s Business Association of Canada (OBAC), will also work with the website Lecamionneur.com in providing the French-language market news and information which affects owner-operators in the province.
“There’s growing interest in Quebec in what OBAC has to offer, and we’re pleased to be able to reach drivers in French,” says OBAC’s Executive Director Joanne Ritchie. “Having access to trucking news and information through both the website and the radio will make a huge difference.”
Entre les 2 lignes, broadcast from Montreal on XM channel 172, is the only French-language radio program geared to the trucking industry. The driving force behind both the radio program and related website is veteran owner-operator Jacques Plante of Saint Hyacinthe, Que.
Plante embarked on the two media ventures with a goal to provide a live source of news and information for truck drivers in French. He is joined on air by another veteran owner-operator, Jean Catudal of Yamaska, Que.
“Having these two on the team will give OBAC’s efforts in Quebec a real boost,” says Ritchie. “They have years of hands-on experience behind the wheel, and a good understanding of the current issues. Mix in their passion, and you’ve got a dynamite combination.”
Entre les 2 lignes can be heard live throughout North America on XM channel 172 Sundays from 6:00 am to 8:00 am, with a rebroadcast later that evening.
