OTA selects 2003-2004 Road Knights
TORONTO (Jan. 30, 2003) — The Ontario Trucking Association today named 12 truck drivers to its Road Knights team for 2003 and 2004.
“Over the next two years, the Road Knights will spread a positive message about the trucking industry, present important road sharing tips to the motoring public and represent the trucking industry at community events, business club meetings, driver education classes, grade schools, truck driving schools and to the media,” the OTA said in a press release.
The new Road Knights are: Gerald Billing, MacKinnon Transport, Guelph; Randal John Burry, L.E. Walker Transport, St. Thomas; James Carniato, FedEx Ground, Mississauga; Michael Confurious, Transpersonnel, Chatham; Albert Cripps, Lodwick Transport, Beaverton; Mary Ann Geertsema, Kriska Holdings, Prescott; Winston Goold, Bell City Transport Systems, Brantford; John Meade, Thomson Terminals, Etobicoke; Jody Orr, Challenger Motor Freight, Cambridge; Cecil Ramsbottom, Bulk Systems, Thunder Bay; Beau Rose, Challenger Motor Freight, Cambridge; Glen Shirton, Municipal Tank Lines, Thorold.
Following an application and interview process, the Road Knights were selected based on their safety record and professionalism, among other criteria.
