OTA suggests plan for Windsor traffic relief

TORONTO (August 15, 2001) — The Ontario Trucking Association met with police in Windsor to propose ways to reduce the long backlog of traffic leading to the Ambassador Bridge.

While the provincial government is considering either building a new bridge or widening Huron Church Road, the completion of either proposal is far off.

In the meantime, the association suggested providing drivers with advance notice of delays through electronic signs near London, which would allow drivers to choose an alternate route.
