OTA to Present W & D Seminar

TORONTO [Nov.14/2000] – The Ontario Trucking Association is presenting a half-day seminar to clarify that province’s new Weights and Dimensions regulations.

The seminar will cover such issues as:
– How much weight will – and won’t – be permitted under the new pending legislation for various configurations.

– Implementation dates for the new legislation.

– Impact on configurations: tandems, tridems/triaxles, quads.

– What other changes can be expected further down the road: dumps, 5 and 6 axle trailers, other Ontario quads, Michigan and New York.

The new rules are expected to become effective on January 1, 2001. Anyone planning an equipment purchase in the new year should be aware of what vehicle configurations the new legislation will allow. The seminar will be presented by Barrie Montague, vice president of the OTA, and Ron Madill,
senior policy advisor with the Ministry of Transportation.

The seminar takes place, Monday, December 11, 2000, 9:30 a.m. – Noon, at the Regal Constellation Hotel, 900 Dixon Rd, Etobicoke, Ont.
