Paccar, Bridgestone/Firestone extend spec pact
BELLEVUE, Wash. (Oct. 17, 2003) — Paccar Inc. — parent company of Kenworth Trucks and Peterbilt Motors — has signed a new long-term global agreementand with Bridgestone/Firestone that continues the specification of Bridgestone brand truck tires as standard original equipment on Kenworth, Peterbilt and other Paccar vehicles.
For many years, Bridgestone tires were original equipment on Kenworth and Peterbilt trucks. Then, in 1991, the Bridgestone brand was selected by Paccar as “standard” original equipment, meaning that, unless otherwise specified by the buyer, every new Kenworth or Peterbilt truck is delivered with Bridgestone radials.
