Park It in TO: Truck World opens today
TORONTO — Thousands of truckers, buyers, sellers, drivers and wanna-be drivers will be descending on Toronto’s International Centre over the next few days for Truck World 2008, quite possibly the biggest trucking trade show in Canadian history.
Five huge halls will come alive as more than 400 suppliers, service providers and people who make trucking the vibrant industry what it is, complete with gleaming chromed-up new trucks, powerful engines and every add-on you can think of.
Doors open today, Thursday April 17, at 10:00 a.m. (after the VIP breakfast, starring Stephen Russell, the CEO of one of the world’s most successful trucking firms, Celadon Group.)
The show is open until 6:00 p.m. Thursday and then from 10:00 a.m to 6:00 p.m. Friday and 9:00 to 5:00 on Saturday. Parking is free.
Truck World is presented and operated by Newcom Business Media, the same company that produces Todaystrucking.com, Today’s Trucking magazine, HighwaySTAR, Truck&Trailer and Transport Routier. and their affiliated websites.
Registrants at the show will be eligible for more than $50,000 in prizes including the Mack-sponsored Grand Prize — a 100-year Anniversary Harley Davidson FLSTS.
Pre-show registrants has already surpassed 14,000 — shattering 2006’s record by more than 50 percent.
Today’s Trucking and highwaySTAR editors Rolf Lockwood and Jim Park will also be hosting a series of informative seminars and sessions for owner-ops and fleets. Check the website (linked below) for the list of the free seminars, including the popular fleet forum and owner-operator survival tips.
