Peace Bridge tolls at par
FORT ERIE, Ont. — The Buffalo and Fort Erie Peace Bridge Authority announced a new toll currency policy that will adjust bridge tolls semi-annually should there be a discrepancy between U.S. and Canadian currencies.
Starting immediately, the authority moved to adopt currency parity for tolls at the Peace Bridge in Fort Erie-Buffalo.
Car toll will be $3.00 in either currency for a round trip, while commercial truck tolls will also be at par effective December 1, 2007.
“Clearly the rapid rise of the Canadian dollar led to a toll differential that was untenable and the Board acted to rectify that situation,” said Anthony Annunziata, chairman of the Authority.
