PEI places vehicle weight limit on Point Pleasant Bridge
CHARLOTTETOWN, PEI — Until further notice the Point Pleasant Bridge on Route 17 in Point Pleasant will be subject to weight restrictions.
The restrictions were put in place after a structural assessment by engineers from PEI’s Department of Transportation and Infrastructure Renewal.
Vehicles with a GVW higher than 5,500 kg, or with axle weights higher than 3,500 kg can no longer cross the bridge.
Engineers are now assessing the best possible course of action for the structure in the short term.
