Penske strengthens e-business support

READING, Pa. (May 8, 2000) — Penske Truck Leasing plans to develop a variety of Web-based services in order to support its customersÕ electronic business-to-business transactions.

Full service lease and rental customers will be able to access information from Penske through the Web, the company said. Penske plans to put maintenance scheduling, road service tracking, and vehicle history on-line, and to provide customers with private Internet sites to access information about their fleets.

Penske said it was also developing its own on-line used vehicle portal.

Penske currently offers consumers online rental reservation and secure payment transaction 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Penske’s Web site offers online expertise with rental vehicle selection, vehicle towing, and packing materials.

The company has offices in Montreal, the Toronto area, Ottawa, and Hamilton, Ont.
