Peterbilt wants to give
drivers a better view of the road behind them.
Last month the company announced that it has redesigned the rear window on its day cab and added an optional window at the corners (pictured above). The extra daylight is nice but the more panoramic view from the operator’s seat is a pure safety benefit, says Peterbilt chief engineer Craig Brewster. The new rear window alone is a 53-per-cent improvement over the current model, says Brewster.
The rear window can be tinted and spec’d to slide, and it’s available in an extended-mount version to allow for more seat travel inside the cab.
