Politician urges truck ban signs go back up

CHARLOTTETOWN — A city councillor wants signs indicating truck restrictions on certain routes be posted once again.

According to the Charlottetown Guardian, Coun. Mitchell Tweel says trucks are still rolling down prohibited streets as shortcuts.

The removed the signs after reaching an agreement with trucking representatives on designated truck routes, reports the paper. Truckers were supposed to be informed through their companies what streets were off limits.

Tweel said trucks are acccesing streets in his ward like Upper Prince, Walthen and Gerald Streets.
