Premier Western truck show around the corner
WINNIPEG — Back in town for the first time since 2001, the Winnipeg Truck Show is gearing up for two full days of chrome, fun, and business buzz at the Winnipeg Convention Centre May 23-24.
The New Winnipeg Truck Show is the only trade event for the economically vital transportation industry in Western Canada.
The show features more than 140 exhibitors on a 120,000-plus sq ft exhibit floor and a Show and Shine that will feature Canada’s most beautiful bobtails and combos.
A series of free, need-to-know business seminars will also take place.
An expected 8,000 industry professionals from across Manitoba, Northwestern Ontario and Saskatchewan will converge for this industry event.
Exhibitors will present the latest in trucks, trailers, heavy-duty parts and accessories, engines and power train components, service-shop equipment and supplies, tires, fuels, financial services, and many other products.
Transport company owners, fleet managers and drivers, owner-operators, managers and purchasing agents, service-shop owners, private carriers, garage personnel, government transport officials and heavy-duty parts jobbers will all be there.
For family fun, more than 30 of flashiest show trucks in the region are prepped and displayed on Edmonton Street, which will be closed to traffic on both show days to give media and visitors a chance to admire these one-of-a-kind trucks.
On Saturday at 4:00 p.m. as the show closes, these chrome-laden chariots will form a convoy and parade through the city.
“It’s a way of shouting to the world that The Winnipeg Truck Show is back and better than ever,” says Newcom Show Division Manager Elizabeth McCullough.
Media interested in riding in a convoy truck should contact McCullough or Assistant Show Manager Kaitlin Bovenizer. Call Elizabeth at 416-614.5817 (emccullough@newcom.ca) or Kaitlin at 416/614.5812 (kbovenizer@newcom.ca).
