Private truck group, safety association join forces

MISSISSAUGA, Ont. — The Transportation Health and Safety Association of Ontario and the Private Motor Truck Council of Canada have embarked on a working relationship that is expected to provide significant benefits to both associations.

George Iacono joined THSAO earlier this year, and as a long-time member of the PMTC Board of Directors, he immediately saw the potential to establish closer ties with his former association.

THSAO is one of 14 sector specific workplace associations dedicated to the advancement and promotion of safe workplace practices in businesses across Ontario. The safety associations are mandated by the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board Act and engage in education and training, consulting and safety assessments in those workplaces.

PMTC says it will jointly present a series of seminars on trucking safety along with THSAO.
