Purolator offers new alternative to overnight shipping
MISSISSAUGA, Ont. (Oct. 21, 2002) — Purolator Courier, has introduced a new and improved U.S. Deferred Service offering ground transport shipping from all points in Canada to all points in the U.S.
The new service is an alternative to overnight shipments and is available throughout British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba and has been enhanced for Ontario and other locations where the service is already offered.
Benefits of the enhanced service include competitive transit times and rates, fully traceable shipment information within Purolator’s system and seamless delivery of packages across borders. The service is suitable for customers with non-urgent package delivery requests and is ideal for 2-7 day delivery requirements.
Features include: Pick up from the most points in Canada; 2-7 day Deferred Service from the point of induction; door to door delivery to anywhere in the U.S. (excluding Hawaii and Alaska); fully traceable packages within Purolator’s system and Proof of Delivery (POD) information
Customs procedures have been simplified with the improved U.S. Deferred Service. Electronic customs clearance begins while shipments are enroute. Brokerage Service is available and automatically included for deferred shipments valued at less than $200 (excluding controlled or regulated goods) so customers can choose between Purolator’s broker or their own to clear shipments. The service is available via Purolator’s automated shipping applications including Online Shipping, Purolink software and the Purolator Shipping System.
