Queenston – Lewiston closures expected for three days
QUEENSTON, Ont. — The Queenston Lewiston Bridge is advising truckers of closures for US-bound traffic today, as well as October 19th, 20th, and potentially the 21st.
Roads will not be closed for traffic coming into Canada but motorists and truckers should expect some delays, reports the Ontario Trucking Association. The closures are a result of construction on the bridge starting at midnight tonight.
Hwy. 405 will be closed eastbound from the QEW junction to the bridge. Access from Stanley Avenue in Queenston to the bridge will also closed.
Traffic inbound to Canada from New York will be held on the I-190 during the time when work is occurring on the bridge. The New York State Police will assist in holding traffic, says OTA. When work is not being completed on the bridge the New York State Police will allow traffic to cross into Canada.
