Raj all the rage at Road Today Show
BRAMPTON, Ont. — Three regal rigs (two Petes and a Kenworth) belonging to Raj Transport of Brampton clinched top prize; a.k.a. Best Fleet, at the Third Annual Road Today Show-‘n-Shine this past weekend.
Under partly sunny skies and to the accompaniment of folk music and aromatic Indian food, thousands of visitors milled in and around the Brampton Powerade Centre, and show organizers deem the event very successful.
“It was well embraced by the industry and community,” show manager Manan Gupta said afterwards.

Ajaib Samra of SLH Transport (Judges’ Choice); Randhir Mann of K&T Transport (Best Interior); Lala Chauhan of GMA Transport (Best Dump Truck); Shawn Bowles of Keena Transport (Best Company Owned Truck); Ajaib Samra of SLH Transport and Kevin Hunt of Hunt Trucking (Best Light Show); Sukh Garcha of Mercer Transportation (Best Owner Operator Truck); Kevin Hunt of Hunt Trucking (Best Chrome); Randall Gerred Jr. (Best Tanker); Paul Davidson of W.D Potato (Best Antique); Kulvinder Chaudhary of Versa Cold (Best Day Cab); and Jason Swan of Superior Propane (Best Social Awareness).
Raj Walia of Trux Solutions was awarded the Safety & Compliance Professional of the Year and artist/consultant Bruce Outridge of Outridge Consulting was named Trucking Ambassador of the Year.
In addition to the truck contest, the Road Today show included an indoor and outdoor trade show, OPP rollover simulator, a live demonstration of a rescue operation by Abrams Towing, motorcycle drill performance, live entertainment and lots more.
In addition to a host of local politicos eager to cozy up to the local community, the closing ceremonies on Sunday were presided over by Jason Kenney, Federal Minister of Citizenship, Immigration and Multiculturalism, Tim Uppal, Federal Minister of Democratic Reform and Parm Gill, MP for Brampton-Springdale.
