Red Dot Targets AC Trouble
Red Dot’s ProTecht system is an integrated air-conditioning system protection unit and tool designed to help technicians troubleshoot and fix HVAC problems quickly and easily.
Comprised of a refrigerant charge sensor, a high side pressure transducer, and a compact electronic control unit (ECU), ProTecht warns of low-charge system shutdown and protects A/C components from premature failures. These sensors, through the ECU, can adjust to excessive system pressures and clutch cycling, and, if required, engage the condenser fan.
The ECU gathers data and logs faults that occur. You can download performance and fault data by using the SAE J1708 data bus link and a computer running a Windows-based operating system.
