Ridewell tailors lift axle for Ontario, Quebec
Ridewell Corp.
Ridewell Suspensions has made design changes to its 25,000-pound capacity, model 240-LKS self-steering trailer axle to accommodate provincial weight law changes in Ontario and Quebec.
For improved axle control, Ridewell has relocated the shock to the outboard side of the beam. This also provides additional working clearance for maintenance of the shock and steer lock mechanism, the company says. Integral height control valve bracketry allows left or right side mounting to meet customer specifications.
Ridewell’s Model 240-LKS system is for heavy duty, multi-axle applications with dual or super-single tires and is available unitized with fully dressed leading kingpin axle. It is designed to reduce tire wear by offering up to 20-degree wheel cut. The unit features an optional lift kit, positive axle lock in reverse, heavy duty shock absorbers, and a range of mounting heights for overslung and underslung axle mountings. Automatic load equalization occurs when Ridewell’s corresponding 240 Series suspensions are used in the non-steering axle positions. Axle alignment is manually adjustable with the Ridewell eccentric bolt.
