Ridewell tailors self-steer axle for Ontario, Quebec
Ridewell Suspensions has made design changes to its 25,000-pound capacity, model 240-LKS axle to accommodate weight laws in Ontario and Quebec that favour self-steering trailer axles.
Ridewell’s Model 240-LKS system is designed for heavy-duty, multi-axle trailers with dual or super-single tires. For improved axle control, the company relocated the shock to the outboard side of the beam, a move that also yields extra working clearance for maintenance of the shock and steer lock mechanism. Automatic load equalization occurs when Ridewell’s corresponding 240 Series suspensions are used in the non-steering axle positions.
The 240-LKS is available unitized with a fully dressed leading-kingpin axle, positive axle lock in reverse, heavy-duty shock absorbers, and a range of mounting heights for overslung and underslung axle mountings. A lift kit is optional. www.ridewellcorp.com;
