RigMaster APUs are ULSD-ready

TORONTO — Canadian anti-idling solutions provider RigMaster Power Corp. says all current models of the RigMaster APU are capable of operating on newly-mandated ultra low sulphur diesel (ULSD).

All current RigMaster models built with either Perkins 402.05 Series Engine or the Caterpillar C0.5 engine are capable of running on ULSD, which cuts the sulfur content in diesel fuel from 500 ppm to 15 ppm.

“Customers driving the new 2007 trucks may not be able to purchase the other APU’s that are on the market today unless they want to set up a separate fuel tank for their APU,” says RigMaster general manager Gary Lisson. “Whereas with RigMaster’s non-intrusive design, a RigMaster installed on a current or older truck can easily be removed and installed on a new ULSD truck without any worries. I feel confident knowing that the product that we put out almost two years ago will still be viable in the years to come.”

Market reports anticipate that ULSD will burn 1 to 2 percent more fuel than diesel’s on the market today, with cost estimates at anywhere from 5 to 13 cents more per gallon.
