Road Knights to present road-sharing session at Truck World
TORONTO, (March 26, 2004) — Truck drivers of the Ontario Road Knights Team will host a Road Sharing Exhibit at the upcoming Truck World 2004 show April 22 – 24, at the International Centre in Toronto.
The exhibit — which will demonstrate techniques and promote awareness on how road users can better share the road with tractor-trailers — will be located in Hall 4.
The display will feature a tractor-trailer with cars parked in its blind spots. Visitors are invited to climb behind the wheel of the truck cab where they will discover they can’t see the cars located in the blind spots. Recent studies in both Canada and the United States indicate that between 70 – 80 per cent of critical traffic incidents involving a truck and a car were initiated by the car driver, the OTA says.
The OTA Road Knights Team is a group of 12 professional transport drivers with first class driving records who make presentations about how car and truck drivers can safely share the road.
