On-road safety featured at PMTC annual conference
MILTON, ON – Young leaders and driver safety will be the over-arching themes at this year’s Private Motor Truck Council of Canada (PMTC) conference.
A full schedule for the 2018 conference is now available, detailing the activities happening at the educational and networking event being held in Niagara Falls, Ontario June 13-15.
The conference will kick off with the group’s annual general meeting, and the PMTC Young Leaders Group Pre-Conference Cocktail Reception for conference sponsors, speakers, the PMTC board of directors, and all PMTC Young Leaders Group members, sponsored by Volvo Trucks Canada.
This year’s educational seminars are taking a safety focus with talks on commercial motor vehicle safety from an officer’s perspective; legal updates; a look at new and forth-coming regulations in the United States; cargo theft from an organized crime perspective; and help on navigating accident investigations, including tips for preserving evidence, hiring forensic investigators, and preparing for litigation.
The Young Leader’s panel will also give an overview of the Driven to Lead program.
In between sessions and networking opportunities the PMTC will be handing out its annual awards, including the Young Leader’s education bursary, the PMTC-Aviva private fleet safety awards, the PMTC-3M vehicle graphics awards, the PMTC-KRTS driver training scholarship, and the Rick Austin memorial dispatcher of the year award.
There will also be a lunch to honor the CPC Logistics Canada driver hall of fame inductees.
More event information and links for registration can be found on the PMTC website.
