Ron Huibers to take Helm at Volvo Penta

GREENSBORO, N.C— Canadian-born President of Sales and Marketing for Volvo Trucks North America Ron Huibers is weighing anchor and shipping out to be President of Volvo Penta Americas.

Primarily, Volvo Penta builds engines and other power systems for the boating industry but it also produces alternative powers sources for a variety of other applications.

Huibers will take the place of former president Clint Moore who, after 16 years with the company, has decided to retire. Huibers’ first day in office will be Sept. 1.

He has held various North America and International senior positions in different areas of the business including Volvo Construction Equipment, Volvo Financial Services, Mack Trucks and Volvo Trucks, over the past 20 years.

Björn Ingemanson, global president, Volvo Penta, said: “I am very happy to have Ron Huibers onboard Volvo Penta as the leader of a business of key strategic importance for us. We have ambitious growth objectives both for our marine and industrial engine business. Based on his experience and record of performance, Ron is the right person to continue to grow our business and strengthen our already strong market positions in the Americas.”

Mr Huibers will be responsible for sales, marketing and aftermarket operations in North America, Central America and South America in the newly developed organization, Volvo Penta Region Americas.
