Run Safe Trucks! Win $25,000!
GREENSBORO, NC – – Do you or the carrier you drive for run at least five class-8s? Is one of them a Volvo? If so, you could help win your company a great prize; namely $25Gs.
For the fourth year in a row, Volvo Trucks and Michelin are sponsoring the Volvo Trucks Safety Award. Participants will be ranked by their accident frequency rates and judged on their accident-prevention procedures.
Two winners will be chosen. And in fact, the prize isn’t $25 thou per se, it’s $25,000 to be used toward safety-related activities. (Todaystrucking.com asked the contest organizers what exactly is meant by safety-related activities. As soon as we receive an answer, we’ll pass it along to you.)
The deadline is July 31, 2012. Winners will be announced during the American Trucking Associations’ Management (ATA) Conference & Exhibition in October, 2012.
The two grand prizes will be awarded to the fleets with the best records in two divisions based on annual vehicle miles traveled: less than 20 million miles and more than 20 million miles. Complete rules and entry forms are available at www.volvotrucks.us.com/safetyaward.
“Safety is paramount for both Michelin and Volvo Trucks, so we’re pleased to recognize the hard work and dedication to safety exhibited by the industry’s top performers,” said Ron Huibers, president, Volvo Trucks North American sales & marketing.
“Volvo’s longstanding core value of safety guides our designs and is woven throughout our products,” Huibers said. “The Volvo cab design, safety cage and other passive safety features protect drivers, while integrated active safety technologies, like Volvo Enhanced Stability Technology and Volvo Enhanced Cruise, improve safety for all motorists. The Volvo Trucks Safety Award allows us to help fleets strengthen their safety cultures and programs.”
