Ryder System wins Lucent logistics deal
MIAMI (Aug. 2, 2001) — Ryder System said it has been selected by Lucent Technologies to manage its outbound logistics network in North America.
Financial terms were not disclosed.
Lucent will use Ryder’s logistics operations to merge and consolidate factory- and third-party-provided materials into a single, pre-scheduled delivery to Lucent customers. Ryder said it will enable Lucent to cover more than 90% of its U.S. delivery demand within 24 hours and 100% within two days.
Ryder, based in Miami, is a third-party provider of inbound and outbound logistics and operates a fleet of commercial vehicles for rental and lease.
