S. Ontario highway study greenlighted

CAMBRIDGE, Ont. – The Ontario government has approved a $2.2 study to examine the possibility of a new highway span between the growing regions between Cambridge and Brantford, Ont.

Fred Leech of the provincial Transportation Ministry said the corridor study will take three years, reports Canadian Press.

The study will look at moving people and goods between Hwy 401 in Cambridge and Highway 403 in Brantford, as well as improving the safety of crash-prone Highway 24 between the two municipalities.

Also included in the study is an investigation into a possible rail
“transitway” between Cambridge and Brantford.
