Saint John Bridge repairs delayed

SAINT JOHN — Repairs to the Saint John Harbour Bridge are behind schedule, causing more traffic headaches for travelers going to and from the west side of the city.

According to CBC, work on the bridge was supposed to be completed on the west-bound lanes by the end of the month, but won’t likely be done for another month, says the contractor working on the overhaul.

ConCreate USL told the CBC it needs more time to finish the $35-million repair project.

Each day in delays is costing the bridge authority about $2,000 in toll revenue.

Work will continue on the eastbound lanes of the bridge will continue next summer.
