SIMCOE, Ont. — Tepper Holdings has announced Sandro Caccaro has joined Bruce R. Smith as its president and chief operating officer.

Caccaro previously worked for Tepper Holdings as director of sales with Consolidated Fastfrate. He’ll replace John Smith, who is now chairman of Bruce R. Smith, which specializes in van, reefer and heavy truckload services between Ontario and Quebec, and between Canada and the US.

“We couldn’t be happier about having Sandro back with us and now leading the BR Smith team,” announced Ron Tepper, founder and CEO of Tepper Holdings. “Sandro has a great work ethic and a well-rounded sales and operations background that covers all aspects of transportation, including truckload, LTL, highway, intermodal and logistics. Sandro is also skilled at assessing and implementing a ‘solutions sell’ for customers’ domestic and US supply chain requirements.”

In addition to working for Consolidated Fastfrate, Caccaro has held various other senior positions in the Canadian trucking industry, including the role of v.p. and general manager with the Canadian arm of Schneider National, and most recently, as senior vice-president with Canada Cartage.

“Sandro is an ideal candidate to take our company through the next phase of its journey. I look forward to combining Sandro’s fresh thinking with our rich history to give our customers an even better and more comprehensive service for the future,” said Smith.
