Schneider’s Canadian chief promoted
KITCHENER, Ont. — Schneider Logistics says that John Ferguson, currently vice president and general manager of the truckload giant’s Canadian operations in Kitchener, Ont., has been named to vice President of Schneider Logistics International.
In this new role, Ferguson will assume responsibility for Schneider’s North American transloading, warehousing, drayage and freight forwarding business and will be coordinating the company’s global freight forwarding expansion.
A Schneider spokesperson told TodaysTrucking.com that a replacement for the Canadian division has not immediately been named.
Ferguson will continue to lead Canadian operations on an interim basis until a new in-country leader for that business is found.
Ferguson joined Schneider in 2005 and has more than 20 years of experience in developing global logistics, supply chain management and international trade practices. He joined Schneider National from PBB Global Logistics, Inc., a provider of third-party international logistics services, and was instrumental in the company’s successful evolution from a customs broker to a global logistics company.
“Multinational shippers are looking for a single-source solution to help them move freight from the critical first mile to the last point in a shipment,” says Tom Escott, president of Schneider Logistics. “Our door-to-door international services and John’s vast supply chain expertise will help shippers navigate the complexities of international trade and grow their businesses.”
