Single-hand Impact Wrench

Snap-on has introduced its Blue-Point AT600 1/2-inch-drive composite impact wrench. It has an aluminum nose and an aluminum inner housing to provide structural integrity and absorb vibration that can cause repetitive strain injuries, and an outer housing made of fiberglass-reinforced nylon. This composite construction makes the AT600 durable, chemical-resistant, and easier on the hands than a standard aluminum housing, the company says. It also keeps the weight down to just four pounds. The light weight and the patented push-button, ball-point-pen-style forward/reverse mechanism make single-hand operation easy.

The wrench’s working torque is 0 to 450 foot-pounds. The maximum forward torque is 550 ft. lbs.; 600 ft. lbs. is the maximum torque in reverse.

The wrench delivers 1,140 blows per minute and produces 7,000 rpm in forward and 8,000 rpm in reverse. The variable-speed AT600 has four power settings.
