Stainless steel bumper now standard on Peterbilt 387
Peterbilt
An aluminum bumper clad in stainless-steel is now standard equipment for the Peterbilt Model 387.
The bumper’s stainless-steel surface is 10 times thicker than chrome plating for improved corrosion resistance, and the aluminum substructure reduces weight by about 50 pounds compared to chromed steel bumpers, according to the company. The mirror-finish bumper is backed with a five year, unlimited mileage warranty. Optional chrome mirror housings are also available for the Model 387, combining with the bright-finish bumper to create a complete appearance package.
