Stellar seminar lineup at Truck World ’08

TORONTO — Truck World, Canada’s largest trade show for everyone involved in the transportation industry, will accommodate more than 450 exhibitors on a 300,000-plus sq. ft. exhibit floor.

A series of dynamic and timely free seminars will round out the experience for the expected 25,000 industry professionals from across Canada and the U.S. who will converge on Toronto from April 17th to 19th 2008 for this important industry event, which is owned and operated by Newcom Business Media, the publisher of Today’s Trucking and highwaySTAR magazines.

On Friday, April 18th we host a Survival Strategies Fleet Forum. It’s tough out there with competition heating up, margins narrowing and the quest for good drivers becoming more challenging. Rolf Lockwood, editorial director with Today’s Trucking, highwaySTAR and Transport Routier, will act as moderator as three expert panelists address the technological challenges facing fleet operators, legislative issues and driver retention.

Fuel costs keep rising and owner operators are seeking direction and advice from the experts. On Saturday, April 19th, Jim Park, editor of highwaySTAR, will examine Spec’ing and Driving for Fuel Economy. At this session, owner-operators will obtain practical information on how to improve their truck’s performance and reduce fuel costs.

Ten Things Successful Owner Operators Do is another seminar conducted Jim Park on the Saturday. As a former owner-operator, Park is intimately acquainted with the issues affecting owner-ops in Canada. Participants will leave this session with 10 things they can do right away to make their trucking business more profitable.

Many additional seminars are at the planning stage. The full seminar program will be posted on the event website at www.truckworld.ca.

Truck World 2008 will be held at the International Centre, 6900 Airport Road, Mississauga, Ont. from Thurs. April 17 to Saturday April 19th.

Exhibitors at Truck World will feature the latest in trucks, trailers, heavy-duty parts and accessories, engines and power train components, service shop equipment and supplies, tires, fuels, financial services, and many other products and services used in the trucking industry.

Truck World is the place where the decision-makers in the Canadian trucking industry come to see and buy. Transport company owners, fleet managers and drivers, owner-operators, managers and purchasing agents, service shop owners, private carriers, garage personnel, government transport officials and heavy duty parts jobbers all attend Truck World.

Media are encouraged to pre-register for Truck World.
