Strahl stays put after cabinet moves

OTTAWA — It was more of a tweak than a shuffle, but when the small dust could settled, Chuck Strahl remained in change of Transport Canada.

Somewhat relevant to the trucking industry, though, is the promotion of Thornhill, Ont. MP and former CTV reporter Peter Kent to Environment Canada.

He replaces Calgarian Jim Prentice, who left for a job at CIBC.

While EnviroCan’s scope is wide, the department has spent plenty of time lately developing policies that affect the trucking industry, including engine emissions rules and a possible biofuel mandate.
