Paccar stablemates Peterbilt and Kenworth were the top-ranked manufacturers in all categories of the 2003 Heavy Duty Truck Customer Satisfaction Study from J.D. Power and Associates. Peterbilt scored highest in customer satisfaction for over-the-road class-8 trucks. Kenworth was the only other brand ranked above average in the segment. Peterbilt also ranked highest in the vocational segment, scoring well in quality, exterior, engine, ride/handling/braking, transmission, and interior, and was No. 1 in dealer service, which measures a dealer’s facility, salesmanship, service quality, and price.
J.D. Power, a market research firm, said results were based on responses from 2,675 primary maintainers of two-year-old class-8 trucks. None has more than 64 trucks at a single location.
