Talk About A Big Tip! Trucker Leaves $$$
GRAND ISLAND, NE – A truck driver was no doubt more than happy with the service he received for his dinner and drinks recently, leaving a US$1,000 tip.
According to the Omaha World Herald newspaper’s website, Kari Anthony, a bartender at Quaker Steak and Lube in Grand Island, NE, received the money from the unidentified driver who had finished his run and was spending the night at the Bossselman truckstop off Interstate 80.
The tab was just US$89.72 but the driver insisted on leaving the tip, after taking with the woman, and eventually speaking with the manager, after learning that Anthony had three kids and was behind on some of her bills, too.
Anthony told the newspaper she greatly thanked the trucker and said the tip wasn’t necessary, but the truck driver wouldn’t change his mind, telling her to also take her kids out to do something fun.
She did, taking them to the Nebraska State Fair, and got a few bills out of her hair.
